Magic Mountain Merimbula

Potoroo Palace Native Animal Education Sanctuary
Potoroo Palace Native Animal Education Sanctuary is a not-for-profit public wildlife sanctuary on Djiringanj land just outside Merimbula NSW. They are passionate about conservation, education and community. Welcome to support the by visiting them!
They aim to raise awareness of the natural world and to create an emotional bond between people, animals, water and plants. They want to show people ways of living with native animals and valuing the trees, grasses and microorganisms living in the soil.
Please visit to see a koala, wander among the kangaroos, touch a snake, stroll through the cooling mist of the walk-through aviary and have lunch and really good coffee at the Blue Wren Café.
You can get up close to their kangaroos, emus, ducks who roam the park freely and hand feed them with an Animal Feed Bag that are available for AUD4 at the entrance.

Sapphire Coastal Adventures (formerly known as Merimbula Marina) has operated boat-based tours from the beautiful Sapphire Coast for over 17 years. They are passionate about whales, dolphins, seals and the ocean and marine environment.

Sapphire Coastal Adventures favourite time of the year is whale watching season. From August to November, thousands of humpback whales can be viewed off Bermagui & Merimbula. In these nutrient-rich waters they can often be seen feeding and playing. The impact of being out on the water and watching as a massive whale surfaces is one that will stay with you for life.

Pambula Merimbula Golf Club
The only 27 hole golf course on the Sapphire Coast of New South Wales winds its way through beautiful native bushland abutting the pristine Merimbula lake. An abundance of native wildlife is on display, providing an outstanding golfing experience for everybody, including the inexperienced social golfer.
There is social and competition golf with hire of facilities including clubs, buggies, and motorised carts available. Normal competition days are Tuesday for Women and Wednesday for Men with a medley 18 hole competition on Thursdays and Saturdays and Medley 9 hole competitions on Fridays. Visitors are welcome to enter competitions. Social golf is available 7 days a week. Ring the Pro Shop on 6495 6280 for further details.
After golf, enjoy a cool drink, coffee and snack in The 28th, a friendly and relaxing space with indoor and outdoor seating which overlooks the course and has views across the lake to Merimbula. Watch the kangaroos leisurely grazing. Check with the club or on the website to confirm current opening and closing hours for The 28th. Course is open from 7am each day.

Merimbula Main Beach
Merimbula’s Main Beach has five kilometres of the pristine blue ocean where you can surf, swim, fish or stroll. It's perfect for families, is patrolled during Summer and even has an off-leash area for the family dog.
Main Beach backs onto a beautiful bush reserve where heathland and forest provide habitat for our precious native animals and the walking opportunities are plentiful through the beautiful coastal bushland surrounding. One of several in the area, Merimbula’s seemingly endless beach provide the perfect getaway on golden sands.
The beach is bordered by Ford Park at its northern end, which is home to monthly markets, and a wonderful state-of-the-art accessible playground, amenities and barbecue area.

Mitchies Jetty
Mitchies Jetty is an iconic Merimbula destination, located on the southern estuary mouth of Merimbula Lake.
Popular with young families, Mitchies Jetty is a great spot for sheltered swimming, SUPing, kayaking and fishing.
SUP and kayak hire is available from the jetty, as well as regular fishing charters with Fishpen Charters.
Mitchies Espresso Bar is open in the mornings, serving delicious Wild Ryes coffee and baked treats.
Stroll around the estuary mouth for a walk along Main Beach, or follow the walking path along the lake's foreshore towards Merimbula bridge for serene lake vistas.
Mitchies Jetty is located in Fishpen, within walking distance from Merimbula township.
